Why do we need to know bank timings?

There are innumerable reasons why we need to know bank timings. All the banks have certain working hours during which customers can perform banking activities such as deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers or bill payments. Indian bank timings on weekdays

On weekdays that is from Monday to Friday, Indian bank opens at 10 AM and closes at 4 PM. Customers can go for any banking activity during this working hour. You can plan accordingly considering your other schedules. 

Indian bank lunch timing

Indian Bank has a lunchtime from 1 PM to 2 PM but, the staff take breaks in shifts to ensure that they provide a non-stop banking service to the customers. Customers can visit the bank any time during the working hours.

Indian Bank timings on weekends

On the second and fourth Saturdays, the bank is closed and on the first, third and fifth Saturdays, the bank has the same working hours as on weekdays i.e. 10 AM to 4 PM.

On Sundays, the bank remains closed.

Bank timings during the Covid-19 Lockdown

Two of the important sectors which kept on running during the Covid-19 Pandemic were the health sector and the financial sector. The banks remained open but for reduced working hours. For Indian Bank, the working hour was 10 AM to 2 PM and the capacity of the staff was also reduced to half. After the covid-19 lockdown, the working hour was resumed to normal that is 10 AM to 4 PM. 

Bank timings for NEFT 

 Online NEFT transactions can be initiated at any time during the day and are not constrained by specific banking hours. 

When using the online NEFT service, your transactions are processed in batches, usually every 15 minutes. While the amount is debited from your account instantly, it may take approximately one hour for the recipient’s account to receive the credit entry. However, if you choose to visit a bank branch for NEFT transactions, please note that such services won’t be available on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.

RTGS is an instant payment system. It has a limit of Rs 2 Lakh. For RTGS transactions, the bank provides 24/7 service. You can initiate a payment anytime and the transactions are processed instantly.
